PROJECT: COMMERCIAL VAPOR INVESTIGATION

Soil Contamination Restoration Project Pasadena MD

Where: Pasadena, Maryland - Anne Arundel County

Overview:
Investigative activities were initiated as part of a re-financing of this property. Phase I indicated concerns related to former boat repair operations including a former trench drain located in the warehouse. PCE concentrations were detected above standards around a former trench drain. The Phase 2 ESA concluded that additional research should be conducted in order to assess the potential for off-site migration from upgradient sources. An additional subsurface investigation was initiated to evaluate possible changed conditions and, as requested by the lender an evaluation of surface lead levels in the northeastern portion of the property (yard). The report indicated concentrations above MDE standards. Subsequently a work plan was prepared / approved and sub-slab and regular vapor testing were completed. During the process, an unknown UST was also identified that will likely be removed. Vapor sampling indicates possible migration off-site. This project is on-going.
